Tattoo artist opens studio in Waterbury

Good Ink discreetly opened on a Sunday afternoon last month, and Corey Barrett wouldn't have it any other way. With no grand opening in the offing, it's all business for this artist in ink. As Barrett says, "It's all good."

Fully licensed and fastidious in his cleanliness, he more resembles, say, a doctor of podiatry, were it not for his "full sleeves" of tattoos.

Seeing himself as both artist and tattooist, Barrett is quick to point out "not everyone doing tattoos is an artist", and "Anyone can do the simplest lines," said Barrett, "but past that is where the art is as opposed to the technical side. It's technique, it's craft, it's art."
