Record-setting ink: Horn Lake tattoo artist misses one mark but sets another.
It wasn't the Guinness World Record he was going for, but it's one Horn Lake tattoo artist Jeff "Flea" Watts will gladly accept.
Watts, 32, a tattoo artist at SickSide Tattoo Studio, set the record for the "longest tattooing session done in five-hour or more increments."

Family of murdered tattoo shop owner pleads for justice.
The family of a Memphis woman shot inside a tattoo parlor over the weekend is pleading for help to find her killer.
ChiAnne Gast, 32, was part owner of the TopShelf Tattoo Parlor and was a mother of two.
Gast's husband was in the store when the robbery took place Saturday afternoon. The family insists they know who did this senseless killing.
They're pleading with the Mayor of Memphis, the Police Director and the community to find the killer, bring him to justice and rid the city of this type of crime.

Local artist puts her drawings on bodies--temporarily.
Depending on which study you believe, as many as fifty percent of people who get a tattoo regret it later.
But local artist and teacher Jessica Meyer came up with a solution to that problem: a cool tattoo without the long term commitment.
It took months of trial and error, but Jessica evntually created a set of sixteen temporary tattoos that last from three days up to a week.
Jessica charges $15 for one of her tattoos.

Navel piercings by apprentice leave customers sore, dissatisfied.
Two young women say their navel piercings weren't done correctly at a Knoxville shop and the man who did it turned out to be an apprentice.
The two women had their belly buttons pierced at Epic Productions by Greg Erminger. He's a licensed apprentice.
Epic Productions passed its recent health inspection and there were no major violations.
If you decide to get some body piercing, check out what procedures a shop uses. Make sure the shop is clean, the person doing the piercing wears fresh disposable gloves, uses disposable or sterilized instruments and the needle they use is new.

Lower Broadway Home To Unconventional Tattoo Parlor.
If it were tattooed on Billy Joe Henry's forehead, you couldn't any more miss the sign posted on his back wall that lays down the rules about language. There is not foul language allowed in Billy Joe's shop.
Billy Joe put up the sign eight years ago when he started the business, which remains to this day the only Christian tattoo shop in Nashville.
It's perhaps the only place in the world where you can purchase a tattoo and a Bible.
Billy Joe's isn't the only Christian tattoo shop. There are actually so many around the country they've formed a national organization. One of its services is to help artists find churches that are "ink friendly."

Kingsport man charged with tattooing juveniles.
A Kingsport man jailed on charges of tattooing juveniles was indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury this week.
Bradley E. Hayes, 23, 3244 Ridgeview St., faces three counts of tattooing a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
If any other parents learn that their child obtained a tattoo from Hayes, they can call to pursue criminal charges.
